Established in 2003, Adria Vini is a winemaking venture jointly owned by Boutinot and Araldica Castelvero. Produced from selected parcels of Montepulciano grapes, from low yielding 30 to 50 year old vines in the Chieti province of Abruzzo. After malolactic fermentation the wine was transferred to Adria’s cellars and matured in a combination of large Slavonian oak casks and French oak barriques for 6-8 months. An intense wine with cherry, ripe plum fruit aromas and warm, earthy spice. The palate is densely packed with morello cherry, cassis and bramble fruit flavours. Tannins are ripe, giving structure to a substantial wine with a fresh sappy finish. Go for a Gragnano pasta with Bolognese sauce or vegetable lasagne Vegan

  • Enisio Tocco has always had a passion for wine and his Abruzzo homeland coursing through his veins, and he has passed that on to his sons, Lorenzo and Danilo, as well as his nephew Sebastiano, who now look after the family’s organic vineyards and olive groves in the Pescara hills. The farm was born in 1981, in the area between Alanno, Cugnoli and Pietranico, in the province of Pescara. 100% Passerina 'little sparrow'
The vineyards are managed based on the 'tendone' system (also known as Italian Pergola Trellis), double the stability and double the exposure, Clones used to suit the areas terroir. Only natural fertilisers and organic protection methods used to fully respect the growing cycle of the plant. The annual organic cycle always ends with handpicking: A slow and engaging procedure, which ensures fruit integrity. For white wines, Tocco employs hyper-reduction for fermentation. This procedure protects both the grapes and must and ensures maximum extraction of aromas form the grape's skin. This way Tocco obtains a wine in which anyone can find primary scents bound to the vine varieties of origin. The wines obtained from this process is then aged in steel. No malolactic is used. The wine has a bright straw yellow colour. The scents are consistent with predominant floral notes and mineral and herbal notes. The taste is soft, fresh, rich and balanced. Give it a go with carbonara, paccheri stuffed with swordfish, pine nuts, and raisins, tagliolini with squid, marinara risotto, rice and bisi or paella Vegan

White wine made of a rare and long-forgotten Abruzzo grape variety that is now being rediscovered. Who thinks white wine is only for women, needs to reconsider this belief! Pecorino wine is strong yet delicate with notes of flowers, citrus fruits and exotic fruit. Lots of people ask – ‘Isn’t Pecorino a sheep’s milk cheese?’ Yes, it is the name the well-known Italian cheese, but it is also the name of a great grape variety that soon will be famous like the cheese. Older people say that the variety gets its name from the fact that the sheep (‘pecora’ in Italian) enjoy nibbling the leaves of this particular vine. The wine is straw-yellow in colour with green highlights. A fruity aroma with citrus and exotic nuances blend in delicate notes of flowers. This is a well-bodied wine with good structure and a slightly mineral finish. Fantastic with appetisers, spring rolls, fresh cheeses especially pecorino, and green salads
