Château Buisson-Redon 2020, Bordeaux Blanc Sauvignon

It’s nearly 100 years since Louis Sèze acquired the Fronsac estate of Château Mayne-Vieil. Since then, Roger and now Bertrand Sèze have expanded the estate which today includes Château Buisson-Redon – a 15ha enclave of AOC Bordeaux.

Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grown in the Entre-Deux-Mers region of Bordeaux. The name of the region is derived, not from the French word ‘mer’ (sea), but from ‘marée’ (tide). Thus, it means ‘between two tides’, a reference to its location between two tidal rivers. The geographical area is situated between the rivers Garonne and Dordogne, and is bounded in the east by the border of the Gironde department.

A tight, tangy wine, full of green, herbal flavours that are complemented by celery pepperiness.

Absolutely fab by itself or good with Waldorf salad, crab sandwiches or millstone sheep’s cheese
