Eguren Ugarte is a family company with a winemaking history dating back to 1870, when the current owner’s great-great grandfather began to cultivate and mature his own vines in the Rioja Alavesa just outside the lovely medieval hill town of Laguardia. All of the Ugarte Riojas are estate grown and bottled, many on the same original plots using grapes from decedents of those very first vines.
A fantastic blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha, delicious accompanying food or enjoy on its own.
On the nose are aromas of violets and ripe red fruits. On the palate are hints of strawberries and cocoa combined with soft tannins followed by notes of coffee and caramel. A long and aromatic finish
Great with kebab and light chilli sauce with skinny fries or a mushroom burger served with spicy wedges
