Born in the 1990s through Drew Dowie and Norm Doole’s frustration at having to send their fruit to other wineries to vinify, Dowie Doole came to set a precedent for McLaren Vale. The winery’s range is an exploration of this region’s terroirs and the many varieties that generations of grape growers have brought with them from Europe. A great marriage of tradition, innovation and a little rebel spirit can be found in all their cuvées.
The grapes for this wine are sourced from select vineyards alongside Australia’s longest river, the Murray.
Long River Chardonnay is light straw in colour with green hues. Flavours of fresh stone fruit and pear and a subtle hint of grapefruit. The fresh stone fruit flavours continue on the palate with a clean citrus acidity to finish.
Fab chilled by itself or why not give it a try with seared scallops, snails, fish pie, caesar salad or vegatable spring rolls
