Rongzi Winery is in the Shanxi region in central northern China. Vines are grown at high altitude – 1000m on a loess rich plateau. The winemaking here is overseen by Jean-Claude Berrouet, previously winemaker at Château Pétrus.
Grown on clay loam, loess soils Shanxi region. It has seen 6 months in tank prior to bottling.
This pinot noir is bright ruby in colour. It has aromas of fresh strawberry and red cherry with a hint of black pepper and cloves on the nose. A refreshingly fruity wine, smooth and well balanced.
This wine pairs well with crispy duck pancakes, grilled quail, pulled or char siu pork, seared salmon and tuna. Barbecues. Roast or other cooked beetroot dishes. Dishes that include cherries or figs.
