Vieux Château Bayard has been in the same family for eight generations and always run by women. Marie-Laure Latorre is the latest family member to run the property, returning home in 2011 after many different roles in the wine trade.
There are eight hectares, mainly planted to Merlot with 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines have wonderful brightness and freshness, delivered by early picking. 50% of the blend is aged in (old) oak and the remainder aged in concrete tank.
Purple colour with purple reflections, fruity and delicate nose at the same time. The mouth is full, round with a beautiful tannic structure. A gourmet wine with already melted tannins, balance and freshness on the finish.
