Punctum comes from Latin meaning ‘point’, ‘transit point’ or ‘crossroad’. Their vineyard is located on a crossroad. It’s the point where two old Roman roads meet. Nowadays, one of them is a Vereda (sidewalk or path) where flocks of sheep go through from Jaen until the Pyrenees. Family run, founded by three siblings: Jesús, Ruth and Cristina. For years, they worked to achieve their dream of producing quality organic and biodynamic wines!
This spicy Viognier shows typical citrus fruit and floral aromas which has made it immensely popular. In the mid 60s only 8 hectares of Viognier were cultivated (in the Rhône Valley) but it’s now a rising star worldwide and rightly so. This biodynamically produced example is characteristically light, soft and aromatic with delicate stone fruit flavours and gentle acidity. Silky in texture so great with Southeast Asian food to balance out spice and aromatics.
